About the Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for One (1), Foundation Assistant to join our team in Toronto, ON, as a Summer Student on a full-time, contract basis (8 week contract).
Hours: 35 hours/week, primarily Monday to Friday
Wage: $17.20 per hour (plus 6% pay in lieu for Vacation)
Reporting to the Development Officer, the Foundation Assistant will have the unique opportunity to help support various fundraising and event initiatives at Casey House, as well as be accountable for:
- Helping Casey House's fundraising team build, replenish and monitor a pipeline of donors through prospect research. You will identify and qualify new prospects and provide research to support fundraisers to make informed decisions to engage, cultivate and solicit gifts from prospects. You will produce insightful research on current and prospective donors using financial, biographical, corporate and philanthropic information from a wide variety of trusted sources, and complete research requests within specified timeframes
- Assisting Foundation staff with writing grant and sponsorship proposals and/or other written donor communications materials. This may include other support as needed, including proofreading written materials, initiating online grant applications, and writing thank-you letters for donations received.
- Accurately completing data entry work into the Foundation's data management system as well as reviewing data (for example, checking for duplications) and conducting database updates and data entry activities
- Assisting the fundraising and events team with inventory of event supplies/materials as well as other administrative assistance as required
- Attend and contribute to supervision and appraisal process, meetings, training, and other events as required.
About You
As an ideal candidate for the role, you should be enrolled/pursuing a post-secondary student in a communication, arts, fundraising or similar programs.
