About the Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for one (1) Program Assistant Blue Door Clinic to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis (OPSEU bargaining unit).  The Blue Door Clinic plays a vital role in enhancing the health outcomes for individuals at Casey House living with/at greater risk of HIV/AIDS who are uninsured or underinsured. This position supports the clinic's operations, the delivery of services, and ensures a seamless experience for both clients and staff. 

Reports to: Lead, Blue Door Clinic 

Hours: Up to thirty (30) hours per week. Primarily Monday to Friday, with weekend/evening work as scheduled. This is a fully on-site position. Candidates must be available to work in person at Casey House during all scheduled work hours. 

Status: Regular, part-time (OPSEU Bargaining Unit)

Compensation: $25.36 to $30.13 per hour (7 step salary progression grid)


Your responsibilities will entail, but are not restricted to:

Administrative Support: 

  • Manage schedules, room allocations, and provider appointments. 

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Blue Door Clinic team, including document preparation, data entry, and client record maintenance. 

  • Oversee clinic communications and manage client interactions, such as appointment reminders and follow-up inquiries. 

Client Support: 

  • Assist clients in navigating clinic services, offering necessary information and support. 

  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, hospitals, laboratories, external agencies, and community partners to facilitate client care. 

Clinic Operations: 

  • Support the procurement and management of clinic supplies and equipment. 

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of clinic policies and procedures. 

Team Collaboration: 

  • Engage actively with the multidisciplinary team to support comprehensive client care. 

  • Contribute to team meetings and the ongoing enhancement of clinic services. 

Outreach and Education: 

  • Participate in outreach efforts to promote clinic services within the community. 

  • Support the organization of educational workshops and resources for clients and community members. 

About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will require:

  • Preferred diploma or certification in healthcare administration, social services, or a 2 years of working experience in a related field/role. 

  • Experience in healthcare or community service settings, with a focus on administrative or support roles. 

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, proficient in healthcare information systems and office software. 

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of individuals living with HIV/AIDS. 

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities. 

Lastly, you have a high degree of professionalism and highly-developed conflict resolution, critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills. 

About the Benefits

The hourly wage band for this position is currently $25.36 to $30.13 hourly (2024-25 OPSEU step grid), you will also be entitled to:
